Pattern for Buster Cardigan

A lovely and cozy long cardigan with a center back panel worked in a shell stitch pattern. A cardigan that you don't want to take off again and you will wear it indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer.

Buster Cardigan has its name from the original version, which I made with yarn from Buster, a Gotland sheep that lives at the heath in Jutland. Here he has a lovely life; he lives with his sister Bertha and around 12 other sheep. They eat the plants that grow wild at the heath, so while they eat delicate organic food, they also help keeping wild plants at bay. Sustainability at its best, but also at a limited scale, so the cardigan in the pictures is made with Isager Aran Tweed.

The pattern is a PDF file. Immediately after purchase you will be able to download the pattern directly from the purchase confirmation page. You will also receive an e-mail with a link to your pattern, and the pattern will be available here at the site via your personal account - so remember to create an account :-) .

Directions:
This long cardigan is made from the bottom up. Fronts and back are first worked as one piece back and forth until the armholes, where you will split the project into fronts and back. The front is worked in garter stitch all the way through, while the back has a broad panel witha beautiful shell stitch pattern and stockinette stitch at the sides. Sleeves are knit in the round until you reach the armhole. Fronts, back and sleeves will then be joined in a raglan yoke, and worked with garter stitches between the raglan decreases. The collar is worked directly on the cardigan so it will not require sewing, whereas pockets are knit separately to be sewn on. Collar and pockets are worked mainly using garter stitch.
